Where will our Children Live?

On the 10th of March 2016 Nick Woolley attended the Town and Country Planning Association Spring Conference, entitled ‘Where will our Children Live’? The Key-note speaker was Lord Matthew Taylor of Goss Moor.

Lord Taylor was promoting his view of Garden Villages, Towns and Cities. Nick Woolley then spoke referring to some 40 projects he was currently taking forward throughout the UK and was in full support of everything Lord Taylor was saying. He explained that several of his current projects had great potential to create the Garden villages, towns and cities of tomorrow, which is why he found the event so inspiring.
He told the conference that as a long-standing enrolled practitioner of the Prince’s Foundation for Building Community, he believed it essential that the Foundation’s robust planning consultation work was used in the early planning stage. Nick stressed the need for master┬áplanning based upon research into the history, culture, trade environment and even the archaeology of an area together with full input from the people who made up the local community, in order to protect the needs of future residents. For his part, Lord Taylor fully endorsed Nick’s words.
Nick said that only in this way could we create more valuable places for the benefit of everyone.
