Going For Gold

Ahead of Woolley’s renewal of our Suffolk Carbon Charter award, due in February 2014 (Woolley won the Gold Award in 2012) Cameron, Annabel and Liz attended the White Lion at Aldeburgh for The Green Pound: Charter Networking Event on 2nd October.

This event was particularly helpful in gaining an insight as to how other companies are greening their practices and also to inspire our team about how to continue with our carbon reduction policies into 2014 and beyond.

At the event we also gained information about the Green 100 (50 companies from Suffolk and 50 from Norfolk are awarded this special award – more information can be found here http://www.green100.co.uk/) and we have since entered our own company to be considered for this award.

At Woolley we are passionate about continuing to move forward and believe there are always ways in which we can reassess and re-evaluate our working practices and make them more eco-friendly – and also unusually more profitable as well – a real “win-win” situation!

We heard from Simon Issac about how to “mobile fit” health check our website as more and more people are using smartphones and tablets to view and search companies on the internet. It was surprising to learn that 75% of companies now use Twitter and we are now hoping to get our Twitter at Woolley up and running – watch this space!
